A magnificent and very decorative pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This 14k and sterling silver three-dimensional Salamander is encrusted in sparkling rose cut diamonds and emeralds representing scales. The pin is highly detailed, including webbed feet, a very stylized characteristic which was popular during the Victorian period. With a long curved tail and body, the salamander is also decorated with two small rubies, which depict the creature's eyes. The back of the salamander feature's a locking c-clasp. A fantastic and impressive piece, it would make a unique addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 1 3/4" long, is 1/2" at the widest point, and a little less than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is very good. The bar pin and clasp are secure, and all of the rose cut diamonds, emeralds, and rubies are intact.
